Lars Brandt, born in Berlin in 1951, worked as a writer, visual artist, and filmmaker. He studied political science, sociology, and philosophy. He became particularly known for his book “Andenken” (2006), which explores his relationship with his father, Willy Brandt, and the experience of witnessing his father’s time as German chancellor firsthand. His other publications include “H. C. Artmann – Ein Gespräch” (2001), the novels “Gold und Silber” (2008) and “Alles Zirkus” (2012), as well as short stories. As a documentary filmmaker, he made works including “The Berliner Freund” (1998) and “Momente des Glücks – H. C. Artmann” (2000).
