Georg M. Oswald, born in Munich in 1963, is a writer and lawyer. He made his literary debut in 1995 with the collection »Das Loch. Neun Romane aus der Nachbarschaft«, which earned him the Bavarian State Advancement Award. His first novel, »Lichtenbergs Fall«, was published in 1997. His novel »Alles, was zählt« brought him international recognition; it received the International Prize and was translated into ten languages. Oswald also received the Arno Schmidt Fellowship in 2000. His other publications include »Vom Geist der Gesetze«, »Wie war dein Tag, Schatz?«, »Unsere Grundrechte«, and »Vorleben«.
