Friedemann Karig

Friedemann Karig, born in 1982, is a German journalist and author. He studied media studies, politics, sociology and economics, and has written for publications including Süddeutsche Zeitung, SZ-Magazin, Die Zeit, FOCUS, brand eins and jetzt. Karig moderated the funk program “Jäger & Sammler,” which was nominated for a Grimme Award, and co-created the podcast “Piratensender Powerplay” with Samira El Ouassil. His first book was Wie wir lieben. Vom Ende der Monogamie (2017), followed by his literary debut Dschungel (2019). His nonfiction book Erzählende Affen (2021), co-written with El Ouassil, became a bestseller and was nominated for the German Nonfiction Prize.
