Kristof Magnusson, born in Hamburg in 1976 to German-Icelandic parents, studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig and at the University of Reykjavík. Before pursuing a career as a writer, he trained as a church musician and worked in social services in New York. Magnusson writes novels and plays and translates from Icelandic. His works include the comedy “Männerhort” and the novels “Das war ich nicht” and “Ein Mann der Kunst” (2020). In 2023, he received the Rome Prize of the Villa Massimo.
