Ijoma Mangold

Ijoma Mangold, born in Heidelberg in 1971, studied literary studies and philosophy in Munich and Bologna. He worked for the Berliner Zeitung and the Süddeutsche Zeitung before joining the weekly newspaper Die Zeit in 2009, where he served as head of the literary section from 2013 to 2018. Mangold is a journalist, literary critic, and author. His book Das deutsche Krokodil was published in 2017. He also served, among other roles, on the jury of the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize and the 2007 German Book Prize.
