Philipp Stadelmaier

Philipp Stadelmaier, born in Stuttgart in 1984, worked as a film critic, film scholar and author. He completed a doctorate in film studies through a cotutelle program in Frankfurt am Main and Paris and studied comparative literature with Werner Hamacher at Goethe University Frankfurt. From 2012, he wrote for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and, from 2015, for Filmbulletin. His essay “Die mittleren Regionen. Über Meinung und Terror” was published in 2016 and received the Clemens Brentano Prize for Literature from the City of Heidelberg in 2018. In 2017, he published his first play, “Vanishing Points”.
