Monika Rinck

Born in Zweibrücken in 1969, Monika Rinck is a German-language author, poet, essayist and translator. She studied religious studies and comparative literature in Bochum, Berlin and at Yale University. Her works include Begriffsstudio, the poetry collections Honigprotokolle and Alle Türen, the reader Champagner für die Pferde, and the essay collection Risiko und Idiotie. Begriffsstudio is an online linguistic and historical archive developed by Rinck. She has received, among other honors, the Peter Huchel Prize, the Kleist Prize and the Ernst Jandl Prize. She has worked as a professor at the Institute for Language Arts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
