Lina Atfah

Lina Atfah was born in 1989 in Salamiyah, Syria, and studied Arabic literature in Damascus. She wrote for newspapers and cultural magazines and initially published the Arabic poetry collection »Am Rande der Rettung«. She left Syria for political reasons in 2014. In 2017, she received the Hertha Koenig Förderpreis. Her first poetry collection published in Germany, »Das Buch von der fehlenden Ankunft«, appeared in 2019 and received the LiBeraturpreis in 2020.
