Ingo Schulze

Ingo Schulze was born in Dresden in 1962. From 1983 to 1988, he studied classical philology in Jena. He subsequently worked as a theatre dramaturge, including at the Landestheater Altenburg, and as a journalist and newspaper editor. In 1993, he spent six months in Saint Petersburg helping to establish an advertising newspaper. He has published novels and short fiction since 1995. His best-known works include »33 Augenblicke des Glücks«, »Simple Storys«, »Neue Leben«, »Handy«, »Adam und Evelyn«, and »Peter Holtz. Sein glückliches Leben erzählt von ihm selbst«. His literary awards include the Aspekte Literature Prize and the Alfred Döblin Förderpreis (both 1995), the Joseph Breitbach Prize (2001), the Leipzig Book Fair Prize (2007), and the Rheingau Literature Prize (2017). His books have been translated into more than 30 languages.
