Jan Wagner

Jan Wagner, born in Hamburg in 1971, is a German poet, essayist, translator, and editor. He studied English at universities in Hamburg, Dublin, and Berlin, and published his first poetry collection, »Probebohrung im Himmel«, in 2001. His other poetry collections include »Guerickes Sperling«, »Achtzehn Pasteten«, »Australien«, »Die Eulenhasser in den Hallenhäusern«, »Regentonnenvariationen«, and »Die Live Butterfly Show«. He has also published essays and edited anthologies. In 2015, »Regentonnenvariationen« made him the first poet to receive the Leipzig Book Fair Prize. He received the Georg Büchner Prize in 2017, as well as the Friedrich Hölderlin Prize and the Mörike Prize.
