Thomas Meinecke

Thomas Meinecke, born in Hamburg in 1955, is a German author, musician and DJ. From 1978 to 1986, he co-edited the avant-garde magazine »Mode & Verzweiflung«; in 1980, he co-founded the band Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle (F.S.K.). Since 1986, he has published short stories, radio plays and novels, including »Analog« (2013) and »Selbst« (2016). He also wrote columns for the newspaper »Die Zeit« and the magazine »Groove«. His work has received several awards, including the Düsseldorf Literature Prize (2003), the Karl Sczuka Prize (2008) and the Berlin Literature Prize (2020).
