Uljana Wolf (born 1979 in Berlin) is a poet and translator. She studied German, English and cultural studies in Berlin and Kraków. She made her debut in 2005 with the poetry collection “kochanie ich habe brot gekauft,” which earned her the Peter Huchel Prize in 2006. Her other publications include the poetry collections “falsche freunde” and “meine schönste lengevitch,” as well as the essay collection “Etymologischer Gossip” (2021). The latter received the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in the nonfiction and essay category in 2022. As a translator, she has translated poetry into German by authors including Christian Hawkey, Eugene Ostashevsky, Erín Moure and Don Mee Choi. Her other distinctions include the Erlangen Prize for Poetry as Translation (2015), the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize (2016) and the Berlin Art Prize (2019).
