Shumona Sinha, born in Calcutta in 1973, is a writer. She completed a master’s degree in literary studies at the Sorbonne and edited several poetry collections in Bengali and French. Her novel »Erschlagt die Armen!« was published in 2011 and received several awards; in 2016, Sinha and translator Lena Müller received the International Literature Prize for the novel and its translation. Her other novels include »Kalkutta« (2016), »Staatenlos« (2017), and »Das russische Testament« (2021).
