Sabine Scholl

Sabine Scholl, born in 1959 in Upper Austria, is an Austrian writer. She studied German, history and theatre studies in Vienna and completed a doctorate on Unica Zürn. She subsequently taught, among other places, at the German Literature Institute Leipzig and the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and held visiting professorships in Intercultural Studies in Nagoya. She also taught creative writing in Leipzig, Vienna and Berlin. Her novels and essays have received numerous awards, including the Anton Wildgans Prize and the Upper Austrian State Prize for Literature. Her works include the novels Wir sind die Früchte des Zorns, O. and Die im Schatten, die im Licht, as well as essays on literature.
