Michael Bittner (born 1980 in Görlitz, Germany) studied German and philosophy at TU Dresden and has worked as an author and literary scholar. He spent his childhood in Diehsa in Upper Lusatia. In 2005, he co-founded the Dresden literary stage Sax Royal and the livelyriX poetry slam. He also co-organized the contemporary literature festival Literatur Jetzt! in Dresden. Bittner writes satirical, critical and political texts, which have appeared in publications including the taz, Jungle World, konkret and ND.
