Heiko Werning

Heiko Werning (born 1970 in Münster) published short stories, satires, books about Berlin’s Wedding district, and zoological nonfiction. His work included writing for taz and Titanic and editing for the specialist journals REPTILIA and elaphe. He was one of the co-founders of the conservation project Citizen Conservation. Together with Ulrike Sterblich, he wrote the nonfiction book “Von Okapi, Scharnierschildkröte und Schnilch – ein prekäres Bestiarium,” which received an award in 2022. He also regularly performed at the Berlin literary stages Brauseboys and Reformbühne Heim & Welt.
