Roland Spranger (born 1963) is a German writer and playwright. Alongside his literary work, he worked as a caregiver in residential facilities for people with mental illnesses and intellectual disabilities. His debut novel, *ThRAX*, was published in 2002. In 2013, Spranger received the Friedrich Glauser Prize for Best Crime Novel for *Kriegsgebiete*. His other publications include *Elementarschaden*, *Tiefenscharf*, and short stories in crime anthologies. His short story “C” was nominated for the Friedrich Glauser Prize in 2016. Spranger has also written plays, which have been performed on various stages.
