Peter Gerdes

Peter Gerdes (born 1955) studied German and English and worked as a journalist and teacher. He began publishing crime fiction in 1995 and has also worked as an editor. From 1999 to 2024, he directed the »Ostfriesische Krimitage«, a crime fiction festival he founded. His novels »Der Etappenmörder«, »Fürchte die Dunkelheit« and »Der siebte Schlüssel« were nominated for the literary prize »Das neue Buch«. From 2018 to 2023, he organized the annual CRIMINALE crime festival for the SYNDIKAT. In 2024, he became senior state champion in archery.
