Sabina Naber, born in Lower Austria in 1965, studied theater studies, German, history and philosophy in Vienna. After working in theater and film, including as a director, actress and screenwriter, as well as in journalism, she began working as a freelance writer in 2002. She has published several crime novels, including the series featuring Vienna police commissioner Maria Kouba and the investigative duo Mayer & Katz, as well as numerous short stories and anthologies as an editor. Her short story “Peter in St. Paul” received the Friedrich Glauser Prize in 2007, and her novel “Marathonduell” was nominated for the Leo Perutz Prize in 2013. Naber also undertook extreme journeys, and the world of sports has repeatedly featured in her novels.
