Sophie Sumburane

Sophie Sumburane (born 1987 in Potsdam) studied German and African studies in Leipzig and pursued doctoral research in forensic linguistics. She has published several crime novels, including *Tote Winkel* (2022), and writes for various media. In 2019, she was elected to the PEN Centre Germany; until 2025, she served on the board of PEN Berlin. Sumburane is involved in initiatives against racism and far-right extremism and is a member of the “Herland – Feminist Realism in Crime Fiction” network.
