Yael Inokai

Yael Inokai was born in Basel in 1989. She studied philosophy in Basel and Vienna and screenwriting at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin, and worked as a tour guide. Her debut novel, »Storchenbiss«, was published in 2012, followed by »Mahlstrom«, which received the Swiss Literature Prize in 2018. Her novel »Ein simpler Eingriff« (2022) won the Anna Seghers Prize in 2022 and the Clemens Brentano Prize in 2023. Her writing has also appeared in literary magazines and on Zeit Online.
