Lea Schneider, born in Cologne in 1989, has worked as an author, translator from Chinese, essayist, and literary critic. She studied, among other subjects, comparative literature, sociology, linguistics, and sinology in Berlin, Shanghai, and Taipei, and completed a doctorate at Freie Universität Berlin. Her publications include the poetry collections Invasion rückwärts (2014) and made in china (2020), as well as the essay Scham (2021). Her literary work has received, among other distinctions, the Dresden Poetry Prize and the Berlin Art Prize; her translations of contemporary Chinese poetry were honored with the Poetry East West Translation Award.
