Katja Kullmann, born in Hesse in 1970, is an essayist, fiction writer and journalist. Her work addresses social status, gender relations, the world of work and popular culture. In 2003, she received the Deutscher Bücherpreis, a German book award, in the nonfiction category for her debut, “Generation Ally: Warum es heute so kompliziert ist, eine Frau zu sein.” Her other publications include “Echtleben. Warum es heute so kompliziert ist, eine Haltung zu haben” (2011) and the essay “Die Singuläre Frau” (2022).
