Richard Ford

Richard Ford (born 1944 in Jackson, Mississippi) is an American author. He initially studied hotel management, followed by English literature and creative writing with E. L. Doctorow. Ford has published novels, novellas, short stories, and essays. His novel *Independence Day* received the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award in 1996.
