Mehdi Moradpour is an author, court and community interpreter, and translator of Persian (Farsi and Dari) and Spanish. He studied Hispanic Studies, computer science, sociology, American Studies and Arabic Studies in Leipzig and Havana, as well as playwriting in Graz from 2014 to 2016. He worked in various roles with independent theatre groups and wrote journalistic pieces on culture and theatre. His texts have been translated into several languages and received a number of awards, including the exil DramatikerInnenpreis of WIENER WORTSTAETTEN (2016), the Christian Dietrich Grabbe Prize (2017) and the EURODRAM Network Prize (2018). His collaborators have included Deutsche Oper Berlin, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Wien and the Wiener Festwochen.
