Brigitte Glaser was born in Offenburg in 1955, at the foot of the Black Forest. She studied social pedagogy and worked in youth services and the media sector before becoming a writer. Her first crime novel was published in 1996; in 2003, »Leichenschmaus« launched the series featuring Katharina Schweitzer, a cook and reluctant detective. In addition to crime fiction, Glaser wrote books for young readers and historical novels. Her breakthrough came with »Bühlerhöhe« (2016), which spent several weeks on the Spiegel bestseller list. It was followed by »Rheinblick« (2019) and »Kaiserstuhl« (2022).
