Barbara Saladin, born in Liestal in 1976, worked as a freelance journalist, author and copywriter. She wrote crime novels and short stories, as well as travel and nonfiction books, children’s books, plays, articles and reportage. She also worked as a photographer, editor, moderator and organiser. With *Welthund*, she made a feature film. In 2017, she received the Kantonalbankpreis Kultur award.
