Raoul Biltgen was born in 1974 in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. He worked as a freelance writer, actor and theatre-maker, as well as a psychotherapist. His publications include short stories, novels and poetry; he also wrote numerous plays, many of them for children and young people. His plays were performed throughout the German-speaking world. Among other distinctions, Biltgen received the Dutch-German Children’s and Young People’s Drama Prize in 2017, the Glauser Prize for short crime fiction in 2021, and the Youth Jury Prize at the Mülheim Theatre Festival in 2022. He was nominated for the Friedrich Glauser Prize in 2014, 2017 and 2018.
