Alexander Honold (born 1962 in Valdivia, Chile) is a German literary scholar. He taught as a professor of modern German literature and German studies at the University of Basel. His research focuses include cultural theory of modernity, narratology, intercultural German studies, and landscape and travel literature. His publications include “Der Erd-Erzähler. Peter Handkes Prosa der Orte, Räume und Landschaften” (2017) and “Poetik der Infektion. Zur Stilistik der Ansteckung bei Thomas Mann” (2021).
