Felicitas Hoppe, born in Hamelin in 1960, is a German writer. Since 1996, she published novels, stories, essays and children’s books, and also worked as a translator. Her works include “Picknick der Friseure,” “Pigafetta,” “Hoppe,” “Prawda. Eine amerikanische Reise” and “Die Nibelungen. Ein deutscher Stummfilm.” “Pigafetta” followed a voyage around the world on a cargo ship. Hoppe received numerous awards, including the Georg Büchner Prize, the Erich Kästner Prize for Literature, the Grand Prize of the German Literature Fund and the Berlin Literature Prize.
