Thoralf Klein

Thoralf Klein studied history, political science and sinology in Bonn, Guangzhou and Freiburg im Breisgau. He holds a doctorate in modern and contemporary history and a habilitation in modern and East Asian history. From 2010 onward, he taught as a Senior Lecturer in modern, Chinese and global history at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. His research has focused on the cultural and social history of China since 1800, German-Chinese relations, the history of Christianity in China, and colonial history.
