Nils Ole Oermann (born 1973) is a German historian, theologian and lawyer. His academic work has included professorships or teaching positions in ethics at Leuphana University Lüneburg and the University of Oxford, as well as a guest professorship in St. Gallen. From 2004 to 2007, he served as personal assistant to the German Federal President; from 2009 to 2017, he advised the Federal Minister of Finance. A Rhodes Scholar, Oermann earned his doctorate in Oxford and received further training at Harvard. His publications include a biography of Albert Schweitzer and the novel and bestseller “Tod eines Investmentbankers.”
