Heike Kleffner

Heike Kleffner, born in 1966, worked as a freelance journalist and has published since the 1990s on right-wing extremism, neo-Nazi violence, and the situation of social minorities, particularly in eastern Germany. Her professional activities included serving as managing director of the Federal Association of Counseling Centers for Victims of Right-Wing, Racist, and Antisemitic Violence, heading a mobile counseling service for victims of right-wing violence in Saxony-Anhalt, and working as a specialist adviser to the German Bundestag’s NSU investigative committee. Together with Matthias Meisner, she co-edited, among other books, »Unter Sachsen. Zwischen Wut und Willkommen« (2017), »Extreme Sicherheit. Rechtsradikale in Polizei, Verfassungsschutz, Bundeswehr und Justiz« (2019), and »Fehlender Mindestabstand. Die Coronakrise und die Netzwerke der Demokratiefeinde« (2021).
