Maximilian Pichl (born 1987) is a legal and political scientist. He studied law and political science and has conducted research on European asylum law and the rule-of-law investigation of the NSU complex. His research interests have also included critical state and legal theory and critical policing research. He received the Antonio Gramsci Prize for his doctoral dissertation. In 2022, he published *Untersuchung im Rechtsstaat*, a study of the parliamentary committees of inquiry into the NSU murders.
