Kersten Augustin studied politics and philosophy and attended the German School of Journalism in Munich. He joined the taz as an editor in 2015; in 2022, he became deputy head of a department at wochentaz and head of its politics team. His investigative work has received several awards, including the Wächterpreis, the Otto Brenner Prize and the Langer Atem award.
