Erwin Grosche

Erwin Grosche (born 1955) is a German cabaret artist, author, actor, and filmmaker. He began his stage career in 1973, initially performing with his brother Heiko and, from 1980 onward, mainly as a solo artist. He wrote numerous books, including children’s books, children’s poetry, and children’s prayers, and made films about the character Padermann. His books have been translated into many languages, with more than 70 titles published overall. As an actor, he worked with directors including Doris Dörrie and Margarethe von Trotta. Grosche received the German Cabaret Prize in 1999, the Cultural Award of the City of Paderborn in 2000, and the Peter Hille Literature Prize for cabaret and poetic cabaret in 2007.
