Alan Alexander Milne

Alan Alexander Milne (1882–1956) was a British writer, journalist and playwright. He studied mathematics at Cambridge and worked as a journalist, serving as co-editor of the satirical magazine Punch from 1904 to 1906. In addition to essays and plays, he wrote children’s books and poetry. He became world-famous for the stories about Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends, published in the 1920s. Milne drew inspiration for the characters from the stuffed animals belonging to his son, Christopher Robin.
