Miriam Wurster (born 1964 in Hamburg) is a German cartoonist and illustrator. She studied illustration and cartooning at the Bremen University of the Arts. Together with Bettina Bexte, she formed the cartoonist duo “mutterwitz,” which produced a half-page of cartoons about Bremen and the world for the Kurier am Sonntag for two and a half years. Her cartoons appeared in publications including Titanic, Charlie Hebdo, Spiegel Online, Stern, Nebelspalter, taz, and Süddeutsche Zeitung. Wurster received the German Cartoon Prize in silver in 2015, the German Newspapers’ Cartoon Prize in 2018, and the Geflügelter Bleistift in silver in 2020.
