Jim Avignon

Jim Avignon is a German painter, musician, performer, event organizer, and curator. His art combines cartoon-like figuration with an expressionist pictorial structure and titles painted directly onto the canvas. He pursued maximum expression with a minimum of lines. Avignon jokingly described himself as “the fastest painter in the world” and was known for putting together exhibitions within a few days. His works have been shown in collections and museums, while he also favored presenting them in clubs, shops, and public spaces. As a musician, he performed under the name “Neoangin.” His work addressed the accelerating pace of society, inequality, and social injustice.
