David Wagner, born in 1971, made his literary debut with the novel “Meine nachtblaue Hose.” His subsequent works include “Was alles fehlt,” “Spricht das Kind,” “Welche Farbe hat Berlin,” “Mauer Park,” “Vier Äpfel,” “Ein Zimmer im Hotel,” “Leben,” and “Der vergessliche Riese.” He received the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in 2013 for “Leben” and the Kranichstein Literature Prize in 2014. “Vier Äpfel” was longlisted for the German Book Prize, while “Der vergessliche Riese” won the 2019 Bavarian Book Prize. In 2014, Wagner became the first Friedrich Dürrenmatt Visiting Professor of World Literature at the University of Bern. He also worked as a journalist, and his books were translated into many languages.
