Tijan Sila

Tijan Sila was born in Sarajevo in 1981 and came to Germany with his family in 1994 during the Bosnian War. He studied German and English at Heidelberg and worked as a vocational school teacher. His debut novel, »Tierchen unlimited«, was published in 2017, followed by »Die Fahne der Wünsche« (2018), »Krach« (2021), and the autobiographical book »Radio Sarajevo« (2023). In 2024, Sila received the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize for his text »Der Tag, an dem meine Mutter verrückt wurde«.
