Moni Port (born 1968) trained as a bookseller before studying communication design at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences. She worked as a cover designer and spent more than 20 years as a freelance illustrator, graphic designer and author with the Frankfurt-based Labor Ateliergemeinschaft, which she co-founded with Anke Kuhl and Philip Waechter in 1999. Port illustrated numerous children’s and nonfiction books and wrote, among others, Das mutige Buch, Das schlaflose Buch and Mein tröstliches Buch. Together with Philip Waechter, she created Sie müssen den Schmerz wegatmen. She also illustrated several books by Andrea Gerk, including Fünfzig Dinge, die erst ab fünfzig richtig Spaß machen and Ich bin da mal raus.
