Born in 1952, Herbert Knorr is an author and literary scholar. In 1994, he took over the management of the Westfälisches Literaturbüro in Unna, where his work focused on support for authors and literature as well as cultural project management. In 2002, he and Sigrun Krauß founded the crime-fiction biennial Mord am Hellweg. Knorr has published nonfiction, satire, short crime fiction and other works of journalism. In 2003, he co-authored the archaeoastronomical nonfiction book Der Himmel ist unter uns with Wolfgang Thiele. Under the pseudonym Chris Marten, he co-wrote the thrillers Hydra (2009) and Todespfad (2011) with Birgit Biehl. In 2015, he received the Literaturtaler NRW for his contributions to promoting the literary landscape of North Rhine-Westphalia.
