Born in Gelsenkirchen in 1954, Klaus-Peter Wolf became known as a writer and screenwriter of novels, crime fiction, and books for children and young adults. His best-known works include the crime series featuring Chief Inspector Ann Kathrin Klaasen, whose novels repeatedly reached number one on the Spiegel bestseller list. More than 60 of his screenplays were filmed, including scripts for the television series “Tatort” and “Polizeiruf 110”. His books have been published in numerous languages and sold millions of copies. Wolf received, among other honors, the Erich Kästner Prize and the Anne Frank Prize. In 2010, his novel “Ostfriesensünde” was named Crime Novel of the Year by Krimi-Couch readers. According to his own account, he wrote his first story at the age of eight.
