Henrik Szanto

Henrik Szanto (born 1988) is a writer, slam poet, moderator and cultural organizer of Finnish-Hungarian heritage. His debut novel, *Es glänzt und ist schön*, was published in 2016. His work on a second novel received a literature starter grant from Austria’s Federal Ministry of Education, Art and Culture. With the poetry slam team Kirmes Hanoi, Szanto became Austrian champion and German-language runner-up in 2018. His publications also include the collection *Es hat 18 Buchstaben und neun davon sind Ypsilons*, whose title was named “Most Unusual Book Title of the Year” in 2018. Szanto was a co-founder and initiator of the reading stage Sinn & Seife and a co-founder and artistic director of the event collective FOMP.
