Philipp Herold

Philipp Herold (born 1991 in Heidelberg) is an author, spoken-word performer, and moderator. He studied cultural studies and subsequently trained as a studio voice artist; earlier, he worked as a rap MC. In poetry slam, he became German-language runner-up twice: in the U20 competition in 2011 and in the team competition in 2016, together with Tobias Gralke as the duo Casino Wetzlar. He received the Martha Saalfeld Advancement Award in 2014. Herold was the originator and editor of the anthology series “Tintenfrische” and initiated the project “7 Tage 7 Gedichte.” His slam-poetry album “Alles zu seiner Zeit” and stage program “Kulturensohn” were released in 2018. In 2020, he co-published “Haiku Tagebuch” with Mila Bubliy; in 2021, he released the spoken-word EP “Von hier an” with Björn Gögge.
