Winnie Gebhardt

Winnie Gebhardt (1929–2014) was a German illustrator. She studied graphic art, painting and lithography for five years at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart. She became known for illustrating children's books, including Michael Ende's *The Little Water Sprite* and *The Little Witch*. She also designed primers for educational publishers, worked for a children's magazine and occasionally created games. Her varied work additionally included poster designs for an English food company.
