Judith Ruyters grew up in Ratingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, and studied English and German literature in Leipzig. She worked as an editor for children’s radio plays at MDR FIGARO and became a freelance editor in 2004. From 2009 onward, she worked freelance as an author, editor, dramaturge, adapter and director for broadcasters and publishers. Her first radio play, “Das Schloss der Frösche,” based on a children’s book by Jostein Gaarder, was produced by WDR in 2006 and selected for the hr2 Best List. In 2012, she received the German Audiobook Prize for her radio play “Die Füchse von Andorra,” based on the book of the same name by Marjaleena Lembcke.
