F J Tripp

Franz Josef Tripp (1915–1978) was a German journalist, writer, illustrator, and graphic artist. Shortly before the Second World War, he began illustrating his own texts. After the war, he trained with the Innsbruck painter and graphic artist Heinrich Berann and became a freelance graphic artist in 1949. He is known in particular for illustrating Michael Ende’s “Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver,” which he began creating for Thienemann Verlag in 1960.
