Peter Zimmerling

Peter Zimmerling, born in 1958, is a Protestant theologian. Until 2025, he taught Practical Theology, with a focus on pastoral care and spirituality, at Leipzig University. Earlier, he served from 1989 to 1993 as a pastor of the ecumenical community Offensive Junger Christen at Reichenberg Castle in the Odenwald, and from 2003 to 2005 as a university lecturer at the University of Mannheim. From 2012 to 2020, he was First University Preacher in Leipzig. Zimmerling has published numerous books.
